 DEFINED EVENTS
1. Loss of or damage:
1.1 to the whole or part of the property described in the Schedule belonging to the Insured, his/her spouse and/or members of his/her family who are financially dependent upon the Insured and normally residing with the Insured whilst anywhere in the world by any accident or misfortune not otherwise excluded;
1.2 the Insured shall be responsible for the first amount payable stated in the Schedule in respect of each and every event except a claim resulting from fire, lightning or explosion.
2. Losses as a result of remote blocking:
2.1 If the Insured can demonstrate through video surveillance footage (or any other conclusive proof) that an attempt was made to lock the vehicle using the vehicle remote but that the locking mechanism was blocked by thieves using an electronic device, such evidence will be deemed to satisfy the forcible and violent entry or exit requirement for any loss out of the cab or boot of the vehicle;
2.2 Where the Insured maintains that the vehicle was locked but no evidence of forcible and violent entry into or exit from the vehicle exists, cover may be considered;
PROVIDED THAT:
1. the police case number is supplied to the Insurer;
2. cover shall only apply to property that is separately and individually specified in the Schedule;
3. after deduction of the first amounts payable in the Schedule, the liability of the Company is further restricted to the lesser of the sum insured shown on the Schedule or R25 000 (twenty five thousand rand) in respect of any one event;
4. the Insured shall be responsible for the first 10% (ten percent) of the claim, minimum R1 000 (one thousand rand) or the amount stated on the Schedule;
PROVIDED THAT:
should the loss of or damage be entertained in terms of 2.2 above, the Insured shall be responsible for an additional first amount payable of 10% (ten percent) of the claim, minimum R1 000 (one thousand rand) or the amount stated in the Schedule.
DEFINITIONS
1. Specified Property
Any item of property that is specifically listed in the policy Schedule. These tend to be of high value items, and typically include jewellery, watches and laptops
2. Unspecified Property
Clothing and personal effects that are either worn or carried by the insured. These tend to be low-value items such as pens, make-up and handbags. Unspecified property may also include sports equipment and groceries;
PROVIDED THAT:
the Liability of the Company in respect of any one occurrence shall not exceed 25% (twenty five percent) of the total sum insured per item
The following will not be classified as unspecified property:

computer equipment or accessories such as laptops, palmtops, notebooks, iPads, Kindles, smart devices and tablets;
