Buildings
Security guards
If you need to employ security guards on your premises to keep them safe as a result of an insured event, we will pay that cost – as long as it is both necessary and reasonable.
Temporary repairs
We will pay for reasonable temporary repairs you carry out to prevent further loss or damage to your buildings, if it is necessitated by an insured event.
Tracing of water leaks
We will pay for the cost of tracing the source of a water leak, provided that it originated a er your cover started. However, we will not pay for the actual repair of the leak once it has been located; this will be your responsibility.
Trauma counselling bene t
We will pay for professional counselling to help you cope with trauma should you be the vic m of the , a empted the , hold-up or hijacking at your premises.
Water leakage from underground pipes
We will pay for any addi onal charges on your municipal water bill that result from leakage of underground pipes on your premises. This is subject to the following condi ons:
○ the addi onal charge for the latest quarter must exceed the average of the last four quarters by at least 50%
○ the addi onal charges are not caused by:
– leaking taps, geysers, toilet systems or swimming pools
– loss of water from swimming pools or their pipes
○ your buildings are not unoccupied for more than 60 days
○ you immediately trace the leak
○ you repair the leak at your own expense
○ we will not pay for more than one event every 12 months.
Wheelchair- and disability-friendly altera ons
We will pay for altera ons to enable you to con nue using your buildings, if you are accidentally injured during the period of insurance and become wheelchair-bound or physically disabled as a result. Examples are installing ramps for your wheelchair or rails to assist with blindness.
Wild animals
We will pay for loss or damage to your buildings caused by wild animals. Wild animals are animals that live freely in their natural environment and are not kept con ned or in cap vity by you as a pet. For the purpose of this clause wild animals are not regarded as vermin unless they are without any protec ve status.
