What is not covered
Breakdown, vermin and damp
You are not covered for loss or damage resul ng from the following:
○ mechanical or electrical breakdown (unless speci cally stated in the Schedule)
○ vermin, insects, domes c pets, mildew, damp, wet- or dry-rot, or any other gradually opera ng cause. Certain speci c items
Securi es, manuscripts, medals, livestock, etc.
○ nego able securi es such as deeds, bonds, bills of exchange, promissory notes and cheques
○ manuscripts or documents of any kind
○ prepaid phone cards or cellphone vouchers
○ motor vehicles, motorcycles, scooters, golf carts, three-wheeled vehicles, quad-bikes, caravans, trailers and all ed accessories
○ aircra , pleasure-cra , hang-gliders and their equipment
○ livestock or other animals
○ rare books, medals, individual stamps or coins, unless speci ed in the Schedule
○ any item that you speci cally insure in this policy or any other policy.
Loss or damage from non-standard construc on
Your policy is valid only if your home and outbuildings are of standard construc on – i.e. the walls and roof are solidly built of material such as brick, stone or metal. Any excep ons to this requirement must be speci ed in the Schedule.
Thatch roof
You cannot claim for loss or damage if your home or outbuildings have a thatch roof, unless this is speci cally men oned in the Schedule.
Jewellery, rugs, art, etc. covered up to 33.33%
We will not pay you for more than 33.33% of the sum insured for loss or damage to precious metals and stones, jewellery, watches, furs, rugs, art and carpets.
Your speci c responsibili es
The speci c responsibili es below are so strict that they are actually guarantees on your part and you must ensure that you comply with the requirements at all mes, during the currency of your policy. If you do not comply with a speci c responsibility we may reject your claim.
Tell us if you change your address
You must tell us immediately if you permanently move to a new address or even if you are just storing some of your contents elsewhere. We may impose new terms, premiums and condi ons.
