Non-motor Claims Procedures
8.5 A warranty tag will contain the following information: H 10 **** 5
8.6 Always remember that thermostats, elements, and valves are not included in the scope of cover as these are considered to be consumables, and are therefore not covered, unless specifically stated otherwise in the wording, or the claimant is paying the additional premium for the cover.
8.7 A certificate of compliance (CoC) requirement is mandatory for all new geyser installations (in all cases where a geyser has been replaced). The CoC is to ensure compliance in the industry, protect the consumer, and it forms part of the Plumbing Industry Registration Board’s (PIRB) constitution.
8.8 It is a requirement that Hollard Insure’s contracted rates are being referenced to. (Refer to Procurement Pages at https://procurement.hollard.co.za/Hollard_PP/Login.aspx)
9. NON-MOTOR SALVAGE
When a claim presents a non-motor salvage opportunity, the following process needs to be applied:
9.1 If a loss adjuster is appointed, they will note the specific salvage and will appoint the correct salvage dealer once the claim has been authorised.
9.2 If there is no loss adjuster appointed, then a salvage dealer must be contacted directly with the detail of the salvage to be collected.
9.3 Salvage dealers will be available on the Hollard Insure Procurement Pages indicating their specialty and area of operation:
• electronics (audio visual, home appliances, etc.)
• cell phones, tablets, laptops, and computers
• construction material (roof sheets, garage doors – not rubble)
• furniture and homeware
• gate motors
• office furniture
• geysers.
Details can also be validated on the Hollard Insure Procurement Pages.
If assistance is required regarding non-motor salvage not being listed above, an email should be sent to
procurement@hollard.co.za.
Salvage registers should be kept updated and reconciled monthly.
H or V indicates that it was a H=horizontal or V=vertical geyser
10 Indicates the month of manufacture, in this example the 10th month (October)
