General exclusions
○ Computer processes means the failure of any piece of compu ng equipment, or any of its associated hardware and peripherals, to recognise a date, leading to the inability to perform its compu ng func ons. It also includes costs and expenses incurred by you to reinstate data or programs lost as a result of accidental erasure. This is on condi on that the lost data or programs were not caused by:
– program errors
– a virus or malware (harmful so ware such as viruses or Trojans)
– inadvertent cancella on, corrup on of data or incorrect entry.
○ Asbestos means any loss or damage that arises as a result of contact with asbestos in any form or quan ty. This is because of the inherently hazardous nature of the substance.
○ Contractual liability means any loss arising from any contractual liability.
○ Mining opera on means any loss or damage other than earthquake caused or aggravated directly or indirectly by
or arising from any mining opera on or mining ac vity.
○ General exclusions this policy does not cover:
– loss, damage or liability when it is caused inten onally by you or with your knowledge or consent
– any loss or damage, injury, liability or claim that arises from any dishonest act, the  by false pretences or
fraudulent act or representa on of a third party
– any loss, damage, cost or expense that arises directly or indirectly from customs o cials, policing services, crime preven on units or other o cials or authori es detaining you, or con sca ng, making you forfeit, impounding, demanding, detaining or legally seizing your property
– any consequen al loss or indirect loss or damage which results directly or indirectly from any causes whatsoever, unless your policy speci cally provides for such an event
– claims in excess of the sum insured/insured amount or limits stated in the schedule
– any excess amount payable
– wear and tear or breakdown due to any damage to consumable parts or parts with a limited lifespan
– malicious damage or the  if the home is unoccupied for more than 60 consecu ve days
– mechanical, electrical or electronic breakdown, defect or failure unless otherwise stated
– items that fail while s ll under any manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee, maintenance or lease agreement.
○ Trade and economic sanc ons: We cannot provide any cover where to do so would violate trade or economic sanc ons. Should we become aware of the fact that you are subject to such sanc ons, we would have to void (cancel) your policy from its start date. We will refund any premiums due to you, and no claims will be payable.
