Non-motor Claims Procedures

Daily turnover figures for the 3 (three) months prior to the incident during the interruption period and ideally for say 1 (one) month after the end of the interruption period.
A schedule of additional costs incurred to mitigate turnover and gross profit losses for example diesel for generators, buying in products from competitors to maintain sales and protect market share, etc.
The request for information is a generic minimum request for information and more information might be requested depending on the merits of each claim.
3.2 Normal Retail Business
3.2.1 Information request for a retail type of business including supermarkets, fast food outlets, etc.
3.2.1.1 A formulated claim in terms of the policy.
3.2.1.2 A brief description of the business and operations, including customers and suppliers together with major competitors.
3.2.1.3 A description providing as much detail as possible surrounding the circumstances of the loss.
3.2.1.4 A description in as much detail as possible on the cause of the loss as far as this is known to the insured.
3.2.1.5 For electricity, water, gas and other public supply interruptions we need the exact date of the interruption and the exact date of when the public utility supply interruption ended. We also require the reference numbers for calls made or logged, alternatively correspondence with the municipalities in respect of the interruption if available.
3.2.1.6 A copy of the policyholder's most recently completed annual financial statements.
3.2.1.7 Detailed monthly income statements for 24 (twenty-four) months prior to the incident and from the date of the incident through to the end of the interruption period and possibly 1 (one) month after.
