CEO MESSAGE
SPRING HAS ARRIVED
CATHY BURWELL // PRESIDENT/CEO
It is nice to call this issue of the Chamber’s B2B the “spring” issue – mostly because it has been a very long, hard winter in Helena this year! Even though there is always the chance of more winter weather, we are closer to seeing spring

owers and the dirty snow melting away. I’m hoping we don’t have a severe ooding around the valley but with so much snow this year, it is inevitable that we’ll have some.
The Chamber saw a most successful year in 2018
and 2019 is starting out to be as successful, if not more. The notables for 2018 are – the new Helena WINS workforce development program which has seen great success, development of our new chamber logo/brand, rebranding and rebooting of the young professionals program into HLN (Helena Leaders Network), excellent
attendance at chamber events and activities, the most sponsorships for chamber events we’ve ever had (especially the Awards Luncheon & the Banquet), adding the 20 Under 40 luncheon event, an increase of 11% in visitors to the visitor center, adding a new O ce and Events Assistant to our staff, and last but not least – exceeding our annual budget net projection by 240%. You can be proud of being a part of that success – the core of our existence is you, the members!
Looking forward, in 2019, we’ve already had our biggest Awards Luncheon ever! Our 35th class of Leadership Helena will graduate in May. Our Annual Golf Tournament is set for May 17th. Plans are underway for our annual banquet which will again have Las Vegas talent but may be sporting a new name and some new features. The 2019 Legislative Session is nearly in the books and your chamber has worked hard on over 100 bills this session to keep a good business climate for Helena businesses. Our Wisdom Wednesday presenters so far this year have had great attendance and great reviews.
A reminder to all members – all of your employees are also members, please encourage them to get active and attend our events & activities. The more active you and your staff are with the chamber, the more bene t your business gets from your membership! ■
