1. Work to strengthen the Bar’s ties with the Law School students, as well as with new lawyers, by reassessing these relationships and developing methods of enhancing these alliances including the New Lawyers’ Workshop program, Road Show, Law School events and other activities.
2. Continue to enhance relations with other legal organizations in the State including the Montana Trial Lawyers Association, the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association, the Montana County Attorneys Association and other statewide lawyer associations.
3. Develop and encourage interest and participation in State Bar elections both in seeking office and in voting.
4. Seek diversity in the State Bar.
5. Communicate with the membership about the goals and
activities of the State Bar.
The President of the State Bar will:
1. Appoint members of the Board of Trustees to serve as liaisons to committees, sections and lawyer-related organizations and provide for staggered reporting
by liaisons at each Board meeting. In making such appointments, the President will encourage minority involvement.
2. Charge members of the Board of Trustees with the responsibility of recruiting attorneys in their areas to serve on committees by requesting Trustees to provide names of area members and laypersons to serve on committees.
