4 BUSINESS TO BUSINESS CONNECTION Remember
BE MONTANA AWARE AND HELP US SLOW
CEO MESSAGE
 Members -
What a crazy, different year 2020 has been – we hope that you all have been surviving the tremendous impacts to business from the pandemic. We are hoping and praying for a much better 2021.
COVID-19 has totally changed the program of work for the Chamber. I would liken it to possibly getting back to the roots of chambers. I feel that chambers of commerce were probably created to assist businesses in surviving and thriving – which is what our focus has now become. We hope that the new and impactful work of the Chamber has in some way, shape or form, been helpful to you and your business.
Currently in Montana, cases are climbing and impacting all counties of the state. We
are hoping that you all are being diligent in safety measures; wearing a mask, washing
your hands, sanitizing your place of work and homes, social distancing, and doing
your part to slow the spread of this virus. No one likes having to do this, in particular,
wearing a mask. However, the biggest reason personally for myself to wear one – is to
be respectful of our business workers who are required to wear them all day long in order to not contract the virus. If the businesses are required, we certainly can wear a mask to respect them and make sure we are not spreading the virus to their employees and other customers. Hopefully we can get past this pandemic and return to living our lives with the freedoms we’ve come to expect.
With the holidays upon us, I want to remind you all to try your best to shop local for your gifts. Many local stores have websites where you can do online shopping if that is your preference, some offer ordering online with local pick up. I know that these stores have been greatly impacted and it is a matter of survival for their customers to return and support them. If you are avoiding crowds, I would suggest that you shop between 9-11 a.m. or 2-4 p.m. when store traffic is lighter. Let’s keep those shopping dollars right here in Helena this year!
Lastly, I want to give a shout out to my amazing staff for the intense and very
different work that we have been doing and are continuing to do. With the
cancellation of many Chamber events and programs, we have worked very
hard to continue to add and give value to membership in the Chamber. This
staff has been creative in finding new benefits, programs and even virtual
events that are helpful in getting our business members through the pandemic.
If you happen to see any of the staff, I’m sure they would appreciate a thumbs up or some words of thanks for a job well done. If your business needs help that we may be able to assist you in, please don’t hesitate to call the office and let us know.
We are here to help! Sincerely,
Cathy Burwell, President/CEO
