Chamber to host workforce development discussion and teaching skill-based careers to students, October 11th with Douglas County School Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Tucker
Colorado’s labor market is evolving faster than ever. Students and job seekers need to engage in learning experiences to help them develop advanced and adaptable skill sets that are necessary to compete in the complex global marketplace. Work-based learning is one way educaon and training systems are partnering with business to ensure that students have the skills and career exposure needed to build pathways to meaningful careers.
As part of the Chamber’s Horizon Breakfast series, Friday, October 11th, 7:30 a.m. at the Sturm Collaboraon Campus, Dr. Tucker will be discussing workforce development, career and technical educaon, and teaching skill-based careers to students in high school and middle school. The free event will give aendees the opportunity to learn about innovave tools and creave ideas to transform their approach to the workforce challenges they face.
This free event is open to the public and business owners are encouraged to aend. Chamber membership is not a requirement. A connental breakfast will be served, discussion begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. Please RSVP at: CastleRock.org or

Talent Pipeline Douglas County (TPDC) is
a mul-industry collaborave that engages
with community members and local industry to facilitate partnerships and deliver
soluons to help create and sustain a thriving work based learning community. TPDC was
created by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce to close the Skills Gap in Douglas
County—this partnership is between the Chamber, Sturm Collaboraon Campus,
Arapahoe Community College, Colorado State University, DC School District, employers
and business leaders.
Together we are addressing the skills gap between training and abilies needed in the workplace. Our focus is to be demand-driven, addressing the most crical workforce needs.
