Holiday Travels

The Christmas season is a magical time for travelers to get away from home and enjoy the festivities of something new. It can also be a very stressful time of the year if you run
lost luggage. Whether you check or carry-on, don’t pack gift-wrapped presents or airport security will have a  eld day. Consider shipping gifts ahead of time, or a collaps- ible gift bag that can be folded upon arrival.
If you are traveling out of the country, consid- er purchasing travel protection. This will help protect your travel plans and investment if something unpre- dictable should happen.

hile some things you cannot control, by following these seven tips, you can be well on your way to  nding some holiday joy in your stocking!
Avoid peak travel days of the week. Christmas and New Year’s is the busiest time to travel out of the year. Traveling on the actual holiday is almost always cheaper than the days leading up to them.
Oh, the weather outside is frightful. Weather can be unpredictable and can turn ugly at any time so allow plenty of time to arrive at your destination. Check with your carrier prior to heading to the airport, and keep their APP handy for gate changes and updates. Know the weather report where you are headed, so you can pack appropriately.
It’s a mad, mad world. Being caught in holiday traf c can add stress to your plans. Consider taking a shuttle or car service to and from the airport. No need to look for a parking space in an overcrowded lot!
Choose the right seat and  ight. All airplane seats are not created equal. Check plane reviews on SeatGuru. You may want to splurge for more legroom, priority boarding or even lounge access can go a long ways on the ease factor. Did you know by taking the earliest  ight out as possible usually means less delays?
Bring comfort items for you and your travel mates. We do suggest a good book or noise canceling earphones with your favorite tunes, a light blanket or shawl and a travel pillow especially, for longer  ights. Wearing comfortable clothing can complete the Zen you are seeking.
Keep it small. If you can, skip checking baggage and instead bring a carry-on to save you the stress of
