New public art installation beauti es Festival Park
Have you seen this in Festival Park?
Chainsaw artist Billy LaFleur sculpts a beaver in Festival Park, bringing an old tree stump to life.
Billy the Beaver is the newest addition to Castle Rock’s burgeoning art scene, thanks to a generous grant from Downtown Castle Rock. This lovely specimen was chainsawed by our very own Billy LaFleur.
VETERANS ART THERAPY PROGRAM
With the help of the DCVMF, CRAC will be selecting 10 local veterans (must live in Douglas County, must have been honorably discharged, and must be able to show DD214) to attend the six-month program, and these students will be able to attend the class at no expense to them. The 10 students will meet at the Hobby Lobby in Castle Rock (1361 New Beale St #200, Castle Rock, CO 80108) for three hours each week, for 26 weeks, for the class instructed by local painter and CRAC member Carol Hein. The six-month program will culminate with an art show featuring the 10 students’ art, and it will be open to the public.
This unique program is funded completely through the generous donations of citizens like you. We are looking for donations of $600 per student that covers the classroom, instructor, and all the supplies, for a total of $6,000 for the entire six-month program. We will continue the program as long as our funding is available.
If you wish to donate, please click on one of the buttons below. You can sponsor one student for $600, or the entire six-month program for $6,000. Thank you for your support!
