NEW BUSINESSES COMING TO TOWN
Famous Steak House:
You may have noticed that the three-story building just east of Black Eyed Pea and Kneaders in the Promenade is currently under major renovation. This building is being converted to an upscale steak house restaurant. It was formerly occupied by Joey Edge Realty, however the building has been vacant for several years. The Famous Steak House, a popular Colorado Springs landmark, recently announced it will open a second location in Castle Rock on the northwest corner of Meadows Blvd. and Interstate 25 just south of the Outlets at Castle Rock. The owners promise a gorgeous building and environment with unobstructed views of nearby scenery. “There’s no obstructions looking at the mountains,” says Sanders. “I don’t think I ever have sat around a place that has a better view than this.” The new Famous will include three levels, wine lockers, nanowall doors, cigar humidors and more over its 10,000 square foot oor plan. Like the original location the new restaurant concentrates on steaks, cocktails, and a host of other ne- dining options. The original building will need a face-lift and kitchen expansion to get it ready for the summer unveiling. Sanders, who also owns the Mining Exchange and Colorado Spring’s institution the Antlers Hotel with Florida attorney John Goede, is more than excited in expanding the Famous footprint. I have personally spoken with their Executive Chef and he is very excited to bring his culinary talent to Castle Rock. 41st location in Colorado, o cials say. The 13,300-square-foot
store will employ 23 people. This state-of-the-art food store will
have an in-store restaurant and Genji Izakaya Ramen Taproom.
Whole Foods is an upscale supermarket which provides only
natural and organic groceries and local produce, as well as a bakery and delicatessen.
La Loma Mexican Restaurant at the Promenade:
Just northwest, behind the new Chick Fil-A at the Promenade is a large restaurant currently under construction and what appears to be nearly 80 percent complete. La Loma Mexican Kitchen restaurant will open early summer. This is a well-known brand amongst those who have frequented the original La Loma which was located near Mile High Stadium. La Loma began as a family-owned Mexican restaurant in a small brick house just a block away from what became their landmark location for over thirty years, on 26th Ave in Denver. The original location was bought out by a developer and they moved to downtown Denver, directly across from the Brown Palace Hotel. The owners decided to expand to Castle Rock since the demographics support a large, popular restaurant such as La Loma, plus they know that they have a following from locals who are familiar with their popular menu and famous Mexican-style drinks from the bar. Once they open, patrons will enjoy a spectacular view of the front range on the expansive outdoor heated patio. Developers have done extensive landscaping to make this a destination restaurant and will appear as if it has been at this location for years!
