During the Winter Months
What you can do to keep your furnace healthy? Change your furnace lter every 30 days, both for winter and summer. A dirty lter prevents adequate air ow. Com- ponents that get covered in dust and grime fail much quicker. Keep paint out of your mechanical room, paint fumes are ammable! Also make sure to identify your return air registers and keep them clear of obstructions.
Your plumbing needs attention as the temperature drops as well. Make sure to winterize your irrigation with compressed air in all of your sprinkler zones. Be vigilant in removing your garden hoses from hose bibs around your home. Purchase covers for your hose bibs to protect them from the freezing wind. These covers are one to two dollars and are much less expensive compared to oods and plumbing repairs!
