If you haven’t had a chance to check out a local woman’s Facebook page highlighting stories of local homeless, you should. Facing Homelessness Denver which, not only serves Denver but all of Douglas County as well, is a local nonpro t that pride themselves on hav- ing zero overhead, allowing for 100% of the donations to go to someone in need here in the Colorado. Amber Dinh, owner of Facing Homelessness Denver says, “We tell stories and share photos of people who are experiencing homelessness with the simple pur- pose of showing the beauty in each person. For those living inside, this serves as a soft entry to the issue of homelessness. It is a small step toward overcoming the barriers of negative stereotypes and fear. For those living outside, it is a rst step toward overcoming feelings of being invisible.”
“Our mission is to invite you to see the beauty in each person we feature through our Facebook page. We encourage the community to bring connection and relationship to the center of their lives, to get involved through a donation of time, letters we can give to someone homeless or through donations to enable us to buy clean socks and basic necessities for someone in need. This nurtures the empathy and compassion needed to catalyze a grassroots movement toward ending homelessness.”
Just Say Hello - This is how any one of us can start. Our community is building a new awareness about our relationship to homelessness and to each other. As a community of compassion we can face homelessness by choosing to see the beauty of person in front of us rather than the issue that overwhelms us.

“i believe we have a moral obligation to provide honor, healing and remembrance to our Fallen Heroes and their families for the sacri ces made on our behalf.”
