Ducky Derby is June 8
This summer Castle Rock Rotarians will launch nearly 10,000 rubber duckies in East Plum Creek in a fundraising effort to help local and regional charities.
On June 8 the 23rd Annual Rotary Ducky Derby and Street Festival will bring thousands to downtown Castle Rock for a day of family fun.

The Ducky Derby and Street Festival will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Festival Park at Wilcox and Second streets in downtown Castle Rock. The duckies will be launched into East Plum Creek about 3 p.m.
The Festival will have street vendors, a silent auction and a variety of entertainment for youth and adults, in- cluding music, face painting, a bouncy castle and more.
To enter the Derby, people must buy numbered tickets. Each ducky has a number af xed to its bottom.
The Derby will begin at about 3 p.m. with numbered duckies being launched into the creek. A few hundred yards downstream the duckies will be taken out and their numbers posted. People whose ticket number matches a posted number have a chance to win a new automobile and others will win cash prizes. The Grand Prize for the number on the ducky that comes in  rst is a chance to win a new auto or $2,000. If the new car is not won,  rst place cash prize will be $2,000. Other cash prizes are $750, $250, $100 and $50. Additionally, $25 will be given for the sixth through tenth place  nishers. People do not have to be present to win.
Tickets for the Ducky Derby will be sold in the front of local King Soopers stores beginning about March 30 and will cost $5 a piece or  ve tickets for $20. Online tickets sales are also available at www.crduckyderby.com.

he Rotary Clubs of Castle Rock host the event, the largest fundraiser of the year for the clubs. Funds are distributed to the Hope & Help Center, formerly the Douglas/Elbert Task Force, Castle Rock Senior Center, The Crisis Center, Wellspring Communities and many other local, regional and national causes. Rotary also funds student scholarships, youth leadership training and Boy Scouts of America projects.
