Folie à Deux
An Abstract Expressionist Presentation

Evette’s education and career background is in aerospace engineering, and she experimented with her artwork to combine her engineering background with her artistic talent and her love of the abstract. By incorporating the elements of engineering into her artwork, she has created a series of unique abstract paintings.
Evette’s current series – Folie à Deux – is abstract expres- sionism, incorporating multicolor layers of acrylic and heavy textures on canvas that invite viewers to immerse themselves in the depth, motion and emotion of each unique piece. Folie à Deux is a French psychiatric term meaning the presence of the same or similar delusional ideas in two persons closely associated with one another — in this case, the artist and the viewer. The ambiguous titles are intentional as she does not wish to suggest anything in particular about the painting or to in uence the viewer experience.
