Free Self-Defense Seminar for Douglas County Women
Castle Rock’s recently modernized Dignity Memorial facility at 407 Jerry St. will be
hosting a free women’s self-defense seminar in their event room on Tues., July 11th
from 7:00-8:30 pm, conducted by “Gunny” Jeff Norman, the author of “GOING BADGER – A Woman’s Guide to the Fine Art of Going Honey Badger on a Bad Guy”.
Topics covered will be avoidance, distance creating, what to expect emotionally, and developing the necessary attitude to fight back, all leading into learning and practicing uncomplicated defensive responses against common attacks and the effective use and carry of force multipliers like pepper spays, flashlights and stun guns. No special attire is necessary, wear what you normally wear. The seminar is relaxed, not physically demanding, non-combative, and actually pretty fun. ALL women, 18 and over (16 and over with parent’s con- sent) are welcome. Attendees will learn immediately usable self-defense tips and moves designed to stop a larger attacker and get away.
Showing women how to defend themselves is a deeply personal mission for Gunny, who’s a retired Marine, certified instructor in Japanese Jujutsu, and an affiliate instructor of Martial Blade Concepts. He and his wife, Marcie, (a black belt holder in Tae Kwon Do and Jujutsu) who will be assisting, have four adult daughters of their own, so they fully understand the concerns of women and those that love them, especially in these times.
For information or to register, email: Marcie@GoingBadger.com or call 303-905-6820. Visit: www.GoingBadger.com Attendance is limited so register soon. Going Badger LLC is insured and registered with the state of CO.
This event is free, but tips are appreciated which will go towards promotions for future dates.
