Local Family Makes Homemade Candles for Charity
Castle Rock resident, Jennifer Holland and her family decided to sponsor a family, or two, or three, for the holidays. In an e ort to give back they have decided to use their new found hobby as a means to do so. “We’re making homemade candles, and all proceeds go to sponsoring a family in need, and you get a nearly customized candle. The kids are also excited at the thought of “helping some kids who don’t have toys”, as my 4 year old described it.”
Jennifer says they’ve o cially selected the families to sponsor. “We were a bit ambitious and went ahead and adopted 3 families. We’re not quite to the $ needed but I have faith in my friends, family, and community, that we’ll be able to help all 3 su ciently. Details are a family of 5 – Mom, Dad, Grandma and two kids, ages 6 & 4. A family of 3 who are living at a shelter, Mom and three kids, aged infant to 5 years old. And
lastly, but certainly not least, a single senior citizen. Please order, if you feel so inclined. We are able to ship, so those of you who are spread out can share in the giving and the receiving of candles made with love, although they de nitely aren’t perfect.”
They can be made in Christmas glasses, small (4 oz) Mason jars and other random glassware, depending on what they have on hand or nd at thrift shops. Pick up can be arranged in Crystal Valley Ranch, or again, shipping is available.
