Scotch Broth


                   USING LIQUIDISER AND                    Mince the beef, using the mincer on speed 4
                   MINCER                                  –  5  and  having  the  course  screen  in
                   ’A meal in itself’                      position.  Place  minced  beef  in  a  saucepan
                   ½ lb lean beef                          with 1 pt of the water and the seasoning and
                   2 pts water                             simmer for 15 minutes.
                   1 medium sized carrot                   Prepare  the  vegetables,  cut  into  rough
                   1 medium sized potato                   pieces  and  place  in  goblet,  putting  the
                   1 medium sized onion or leek            cabbage in first. Cover with water from the
                   1 medium sized turnip                   remaining pint. Switch to top speed for just a
                   1 cabbage leaf                          few seconds to chop vegetables.
                   1 oz pearl barley                       Pour  into  the  saucepan,  add  the  blanched
                   1 tsp salt, pepper, parsley             barley and any remaining water and simmer
                   Serves 3 - 4                            for about half an hour.
                                                           Add  further  seasoning  if  required,  before
                                                           serving.
                                                           Chop  the  washed  and  dried  parsley  by
                                                           dropping  it  on  to  the  rotating  liquidiser
                                                           blades through the hole in the lid, using top
                                                           speed.
                                                           Serve  the  broth  with  a  good  sprinkling  of
                                                           parsley.









                                        Creamed Country Soup


                   USING LIQUIDISER                        Heat  the  fat  in  a  saucepan  and  add  the
