Committees are the foundation of the governance structure in the High School. That government hopes to serve the common good: the Committees engage each person in the school community in active, real and personal service to the whole. Committees:
Academic Committee: The academic atmosphere is its special interest. By sponsoring events, raising questions, making suggestions, this committee works to enhance the academic quality of the school.
Athletic Committee, serves the Carrollton community by fostering leadership qualities through team membership and sports activities. This committee will sponsor activities which will get the Carrollton Community interested and involved in athletic events.
Environmental Design Committee: concerns itself with Carrollton's indoor and outdoor environment. This committee brings together members of the community who see creative ways to make Carrollton look more beautiful.
The Fashion Committee’s abiding responsibility to the Carrollton Community is education. This groupdesigns means to increase our awareness of the latest trends in fashion and design.
The Good Cause Committee works to raise our consciousness and help us serve the larger community. Itenables the Carrollton Community to reach-out and help other groups in our area who need us.
The Pep and Spirit serves the Carrollton Community by increasing spirit and working to solve morale problems. By sponsoring projects and activities during the school year that encourage inclusion of the communities’s members, this committee hopes to build community.
The Social Committee assumes the special responsibility of sponsoring after school activities. These activities are meant to build community and generate spirit.
The Theatre and Entertainment Committee serves to strengthen the sense of unity in the school, build a stronger community and at the same time provide relaxation for the students and faculty.
In and Around Miami Committee assists us in answering typical Thursday questions, “What’s going on this weekend?”. By sponsoring such activities as raffling tickets for different performances, organizing a festival of the Arts, writing a school newspaper column and/or posting announcements of cultural events in the weekly schedules, this committee works to increase our awareness of all up and coming events in our city.
The Media Committee provides the school with audio-visual presentations. Given the new video equipment Carrollton has received through a Network Grant, the Media Committee might prove to be a valuable resource as a student-faculty group who has been trained in the use of the equipment.
The Wildlife committee will awaken in the community an awareness of the needs of wildlife in South Florida.
