Celebrating Multicultural Carrollton
Family members of Leela Paluvoi ‘37, Maya Amin ‘37, Penelope Singh ‘35, Xara Patel ‘34 and Maea Iyer-Grover ‘34 visited the Duchesne Campus sharing Indian cultural traditions including the Hindu festival Diwali, also known as the festival of lights.
During a unit on the Far East, Seanna ‘33 shared her knowlege about the similarities and differences between Chinese and Japanese culture.
Second Grade parent, Mrs. Perkins taught the class about Rosh Hashanah and the importance of the holiday in the Jewish faith.

During December, two of our Jewish families visited the First Grade class to talk about the history of Hanukkah and share its traditions and related vocabulary followed by a Hanukkah craft activity.
