The 1804 meeting of Madeleine Sophie Barat and Philippine Duchesne at the Visitation Convent in Grenoble, France is depicted in this icon created by Anne Davidson, RSCJ. It hangs at the entrance of the 1835 building at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in St. Charles, Missouri.
This work portrays the love and enduring friendship which these women shared despite the time and distance which separated them.
