10 THINGS YOUR KIDS SHOULD REMEMBER TO DO (OR NOT DO) ON THE GOLF COURSE
1 . BEREADYTOPLAYWHENITISYOURTURNGenerallyspeaking,theorderofplayisdeterminedbythe positionofeachplayer’sball:farthestfromtheholeplaysfirst . But,“ReadyGolf”isthemorecommon . If youarethefarthestfromthehole,andreadytoplay,goahead . But,ifthegolferfarthestfromtheholeis not ready to play, and you are, then you should play .
2 . LETOTHERPLAYERSCONCENTRATEOnekeytohittinggoodgolfshotsisfocusingonthematterathand whenabouttohit . Thisbecomesmoredifficultifotherplayersaretalking,whistling,movingaboutorjust beinginyourdirectlineofvision . Youwouldnotlikesomeonetodoanyofthesethingwhenyou’rehitting so please be considerate to the others in your group .
3 . REPAIRTHECOURSEIfyoumakeadivotwhenyouhit,thenreplacethedivotandpressitdown . OnPar 3’s,orwhensandorseedboxesareonthetees,fillyourdivotevenlywiththat . Ifyourballmakesamark on the green, repair it before you putt and fix other marks made by others before you leave the green .
4 . LEAVETHEBUNKERSASYOUFINDTHEMWhenyouhityourballintoabunker,takearakeinwithyou . Onceyouhavehityourshot,rakeanyfootprintsormarksyouhavemadeuntilsmooth . Remember,you will receive a penalty when you ground your club in the sand, prior to hitting your shot .
5 . PRACTICEGOODPUTTINGGREENETTIQUETTE(Repairballmarks .) Donotleanonyourputterwhen waitingtoputt . Beforeitisyourturntoputt, readthelineandbreak . Doingsobeforehandmakesiteasier, sowhenitisyourturntoputt,youareready . Ifyoutaketheflagstickout,setitoffthegreenandreplaceit when everyone has putted out .
