  Everybody’s Reading!
The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis.
Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month with a great book! This highly acclaimed, award winning book is a humorous, emotional and powerful story of the Weird Watsons, an African American family from Flint, Michigan, who travel
to segregated Birmingham, Alabama in tumultuous 1963. Through their
experiences in this dark moment of American history Kenny comes to appreciate the strong and enduring love of his weird family. Starting Monday, January 20, you can stop by the Library to check out a copy of the book. We will have plenty on hand for everyone! Finish the book by February 3 and participate in the weekly trivia during the following four weeks. Each time you answer the trivia question correctly you will be put in a drawing to win a $10 gift certificate for Barnes and Noble.
What’s New! The Early Elementary literacy kits are ready-to-go kits created for students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. They are designed for struggling readers; the kits include games, books, and activities to help make reading more fun and focus on the core reading components. Each kit will have a theme that corresponds to a core component (comprehension, fluency, phonics, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary). The kits are donated in memory of Carol Duvall.
 Most programs require registration.
