The College library renovations are officially underway after Mr Ayoub met with Jason
Figeroa (the Director of Building Solutions, the successful tenderer for the library
extension and refurbishment) to sign the contract on Friday of Week 9. Mr Craig Vale (the
Architect who designed the extension) was also present.
The project cost is approximately $1.35m, with the College receiving a Commonwealth
capital grant of $895k.
Building works are scheduled to commence at the beginning of Term 4, and are expected
to be completed by the beginning of Term 2, 2025.
Forgiveness
In September, the Friendology program explored the importance of Forgiveness. The Friend-O-Cycle (inluded in Issue 7 of Harvest Connect) shows how
forgiveness leads to closer and stronger friendships aftre a Friendship Fire. Forgiveness helps us move forward in our friendships.
Not only do we need to learn to forgive others, it is important for children to also learn about self- forgiveness. To support them in this, talk to them
about the following:

Library Renovations
It is important that we remind our children not to hold themselves to unattainable, unrealistic
standards. We need to remind them that the
Friend-O-Cycle applies to our inner fires too.
Regret: What does it mean? Why do we feel regret? Explain that this is our soul’s way of reminding us of our values.
Self-Compassion: Remind them that they need to treat themselves like they would treat a good friend. What would they tell a friend who is being hard on themselves? Teach them to speak kindly to themselves.
