On the last day of Term 2, we farewelled Mrs Baldock.
Mrs Baldock looked after Mrs Penner’s Year 1 class over her 2 weeks of Long Service Leave
last term. Our Year 1 class really enjoyed their time with you.
The Friend-O-Cycle
As part of the Friendology friendship skills
curriculum we use within the College to
teach students to solve their own problems
and make decisions that support happy,
healthy relationships, we encourage them to
refer to the Friend-o-Cycle. The idea behind
the program is to give children the skills and
language to feel in control of their emotions
within their social domain.
This chart shows the normal cycle of conflict
in a healthy friendship. We use this to
teach students how to navigate conflict
and friendships, and to understand that
disagreements are a normal and healthy
part of life.
Students learn step-by-step how to move
through conflicts in a friendship. The phases
of the Friend-o-Cycle are: Healthy Friendship,
Friendship Fire, Confront the Issue, Talk-
It-Out, Forgive and Forget, and Closer and
Stronger.
