Modern Technologies Used In Neurosurgery at Mouwasat
One of the most difficult moments during neurosurgery and spine surgeries is when the surgeon uses surgical tools to reach specific areas in a very precise way, new technology in Mouwasat Hospitals makes these complex and sensitive operations more accurate and safer more than ever.
This technology aims to reduce the amount of radiation exposed to patients, as well as provide the latest surgical solutions for brain, nerve and spine operations as well as reducing the possibility of the need for corrective operations in the future.
Therefore, Mouwasat Hospitals now have the following high-tech equipment:
Surgical Navigation Device O-arm Device
The portable multi-slide OmniTom device for head and neck scanning is easily brought into the operating rooms to provide neurosurgeons with high-resolution 3D images in cases of brain tumors and internal bleeding to enable them to make their surgical decisions with ease and confi- dence without the need to move patients as before.
The O-arm device contributes and provides neuro- surgeons with highly detailed two-dimensional and three-dimensional images in a time not exceeding one minute during spinal operations, as the three-dimensional images are viewed inside the operating room, allowing surgeons to have a comprehensive and more in-depth view of the places where the surgical instruments are precisely placed during the maneuver of surgical instruments around the spinal nerves, it also helps preserve healthy tissue, shorten operations time and improve surgical results.
OmniTom Device
The O-arm and the OmniTom device are also used at the end of each surgery before the patient leaves the operating room to ensure that the surgeries are completed with the desired results and that the patients do not need to undergo surgeries again in the future.
The images obtained from either the OmniTom device or the o-arm device are transferred to the surgical navigation device, which enables the medi- cal staff to view extremely accurate details during operations without the need to expose patients to x-rays again.
This is what enabled Mouwasat hospitals to use the latest surgical methods that provide our patients with a shorter recovery period and not to spend longer periods in the hospital to recover, our medi- cal staff can now perform surgeries with higher accuracy and provide better medical services to our valued patients.
