7. 4551.59 Charbell (F1) Swiss Chard Seed 1 X 100,000 seeds
Days to maturity- 28 for baby, 65 for bunching (Annual)
New! Clean, vibrant leaves. Charbell was bred for cleaner, loftier, more colourful baby leaves, but we found it also performs very well at full size. Strong Cercospora resistance and upright habit for a healthy-looking bunch. More vigorous than Magenta Sunset with wider petioles, brighter colour, and heavier savoy. Unlike traditional magenta chard, Charbell is very bolt resistant. Also, a premium- quality baby leaf variety with brilliant, deep magenta stems and veins and heavy, textured leaves that create loft in salad mixes. Avg. 31,400 seeds/lb. Packet: 200 seeds.
8. 703D.53 Bright Lights Swiss Chard Seed- 2 X 1000 seeds
Days to maturity- 28 for baby, 65 for bunching (Annual)
The gold standard for multicoloured Swiss chard. Nicely savoyed green or bronze leaves with stems of gold, pink, orange, purple, red, and white with bright and pastel variations. Consistent growth rate and strong bolt resistance across all colours makes this a superior mix. Direct seed or transplant to allow separating out the individual colours. Suitable for production year-round, but somewhat less frost hardy than normal for chard. The late New Zealand amateur breeder John Eaton developed Bright Lights; Johnny's selects and maintains the different colour stocks and produces the seeds. AAS winner. Decorticated (rubbed) seeds. Also available with NOP-compliant pelleting. Avg. 30,400 seeds/lb. Packet: 200 seeds.
