When available, OE Time/Mileage recommendations are better than none. But “Time” - the duration between services, does not provide an indication of the fluids condition, nor does “Mileage”.
Transmission are stressed more severely now than ever before. The ATRA estimates that 90% of transmission failures are due to overheating of the fluid (severe driving conditions). This depletes the additive package and drives the oxidation rate. The fluid can no longer perform its intended function.
