    Yours for less than $150,000:
Digital colour production presses with inline finishing
There is a wide array of print production equipment available for less than $150,000, including many roll- to-roll wide format printers, some flatbed wide format printers, much finishing equipment, and a surprising number of digital colour print engines, and some with inline finishing.
Konica Minolta offers a vast range of digital print systems and finishing equipment priced within the $150,000 threshold for the Instant Asset Write Off economic stimulus initiative. The company says its digital print systems offer outstanding quality and reliability, and are supported by a team of highly trained engineers that are focused on ensuring maximum uptime.
The range is flexible in terms of how the systems can be configured and optioned to meet specific business requirements, and can be financed through the company’s partner 3E.
Examples of what Konica Minolta print engines you could get within the $150,000 for Instant Asset Write Off include the bizhub PRO 1100, fully optioned with
five input trays, staple finisher, booklet finisher, hole punch and post inserter. This 100 ppm (A4) monochrome press offers a compact footprint, intuitive operation and inline finishing.
In colour engines there is the AccurioPress 6120/6136, fully optioned with five input trays, staple finisher, booklet finisher, hole punch and post inserter. The AccurioPress 6136/6120 offer award-winning productivity, printing at 136 and 120 ppm (A4).
They also provide high capacity media feeding, with media replacement
and toner loading possible without interruption to printing. These systems can achieve a duty cycle up to 3.2 million prints.
The AccurioPrint C3070L also comes
in under $150,000, fully optioned with three input trays, long sheet tray, staple finisher, booklet finisher, hole punch, post inserter and EFI Controller. The AccurioPrint C3070L is designed for high quality colour production printing – with print speeds of up to 71 ppm and the flexibility to handle a large range of print requirements, that Konica Minolta says deliver colour reproduction with colour
consistency that is demanded in the professional space.
Konica Minolta also has the AccurioPress C3070/C3080/C83hc. It can be optioned with five input trays, long sheet tray, Intelligent Quality Optimiser (IQ-501), relay unit, staple finisher, booklet finisher (SD-510), staple finishing and booklet (SD-510), hole punch, post inserter and EFI Controller. Other input and finishing options are available but these may see the cost exceed $150,000.
The AccurioPress C6100/C6085 can
be optioned with three trays, Intelligent Quality Optimiser (IQ-501), relay
unit, staple and booklet finisher (SD- 510), hole punch, post inserter and proprietary Konica Minolta Controller. Other input and finishing options can be added but may take the price above the $150,000. The AccurioPress C6100 and C6085 print at 100 ppm (A4) (C6100) and 85 ppm (A4) (C6085).
Fuji Xerox
Fuji Xerox has a quartet of production print systems that come in at less than $150,000, PrimelinkT C9065/C9070 Printer, the Versant 180 Press, and the Versant 3100 Press.
The Primelink C9065/C9070 printer is aimed professional printers, large businesses and agencies with colour management on short runs as a priority. The Versant 180 and Versant 3100 Press are aimed at professional printers with a storefront, especially digital printers specialising in quick turnarounds with a high-quality output for customers.
The in-line D6 Finisher is compatible with the Primelink C9065/C9070 Printer, and both VersantTM 180 and Versant 3100 Presses. This streamlined finisher produces an enormous array of applications including Z-Fold and Tri- Fold Brochures, all variants of cards, saddle-stapled booklets, squarefold booklets, posters and signs, packaging, flyers, postcards, name cards, labels, stickers, calendars, security printed certificates, and
POS materials including synthetics.
It also specialises in expanded media handling such as 660mm banners and thick stock capabilities.
The Fuji Xerox Versant 180 and 3100 presses are effectively a total print solution that include simple affordable in-line finishing and all
in one booklet making to automate processes, reduce costs, and ultimately streamline operator workflows.
The Versant 180 has a small footprint suited to those tight in space, and is aimed at the corporate market in addition to commercial printers.
The larger 3100, meanwhile,
is aimed squarely at commercial printers who want to squeeze as much productivity as they can out of their machines. The 180 can pump
