LAND 400 PHASE 3 AIC ROADSHOW TO START IN MARCH
THE Land 400 Phase 3 Australian Indus- try Capability roadshow nomination form has now been released. The roadshow will occur in March and April 2020 across all Australian capital cities and selected re- gional centres.
The Mounted Close Combat Capability (Land 400 Phase 3) project is a multi-billion dollar project scoped to acquire up to 450 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to replace the current M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers and up to 17 Manoeuvre Support Vehicles to enable Army to undertake combat opera- tions in a joint environment. This project will provide exciting opportunities for Aus- tralian companies to contribute to the pro- duction and support of an advanced world class Infantry Fighting Vehicle capability.
In September, Hanwha Defense Aus- tralia and Rheinmetall Defence Australia were announced as the two shortlisted tenderers invited to participate in the sec- ond stage of the tender evaluation, the Risk Mitigation Activity.
A key component of the Risk Mitigation Activity is facilitated engagement with Australian industry. Defence will work with shortlisted tenderers to maximise op- portunities for Australian industry partici- pation to deliver an optimum AIC.
Similarly to Land 400 Phase 2, Defence will facilitate a joint AIC roadshow with Rhe- inmetall Defence Australia and Hanwha De- fense Australia. This will provide companies across Australia with the opportunity to show- case their capabilities and provide Hanwha

and Rheinmetall with the opportunity to identify local small and medium enterprises able to contribute to their supply chains.
The roadshow is currently intending to visit: Townsville, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra, Mel- bourne, Geelong, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin. The sequencing of the road- show will be completed as demand for each location is identified, with additional re- gional locations added if required.
To be a part of this exciting opportu- nity, Australian industry is encouraged to access the nomination form and pro- vide details in the required fields before submitting their nomination to LAND- 400Phase3.AIC@defence.gov.au.

ST HILLIERS COMPLETES NAVY TRAINING CENTRE EXPANSION
THE $24 million extension of the Navy Training Systems Centre at Randwick Bar- racks has been completed by St Hilliers, in time for the first Navy training course.
Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said the new facilities will support specialised training for crews of the two new Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment ships being procured for the RAN.
“The training centre extension includes specialist training rooms and simulators to train Navy’s crews in how to operate and maintain the new Supply Class ves- sels,” Minister Price said.
“These works are the first to be com- pleted under the Navy Capability Infra- structure Sub-program, which involves approximately $2 billion of new facilities and infrastructure works to be delivered across Australia over the next seven years.
“Under the Government’s Defence Pol- icy for Industry Participation, St Hilliers was successful in exceeding its 75 per cent target for a local industry participation rate, using local businesses for 84 per cent of the sub-contract work.”
The first of these Supply Class vessels, HMAS Supply, is planned to enter service
