Wide Format Printing
New Durst platform
Durst is moving to a new print platform, the P5, which includes hardware and software, plus a white label web-to-print textile solution that print businesses can use.
The P5 includes a trio of new wide format printers: the flagship 250HS, and the hybrid 350 and 250. Also new is the Durst workflow software which includes Durst Smartshop ecommerce for B2B and B2C engagement. It includes an online editor, and is described by the company as an immersive customer experience.
Matt Ashman, national sales manager at Durst says, “The P5 is designed to increase speed, productivity and versatility.
It is a whole new ecosystem.”
EFI into hybrid
The EFI h-series, which is available in two models, is EFI’s mid-range platform designed for premium- quality sign and graphics production, according to Rodd Harrison, Asia Pacific vice president for EFI.
The h3, which produces up to 74 boards per hour in eight-colour, or
four-colour plus white, and lays down five print layers in a single pass, can be extended to increase throughput according to a printer’s needs.
Harrison says the ability of the h3 to print means that high quality can be achieved in Express mode with the X4 four-colour printer thanks to a 7pl inkdrop.
“High speeds for high quality print means that h3 and h5 users significantly increase their capacity.
“The Vutek h3 model can be upgraded to a Vutek h5 on site.
With the upgrade, users can get even greater speed and capacity,” he says.
Epson OEM assurance
Epson sells several different ranges for wide-format printing, including the T-series, P-series, S-series,
and F-series. Ryan Warby says, “Our smaller format machines
can do things in the architectural, engineering, and construction market, so things like plans and large posters. The T-series can
be used for that, production of promotional materials, and so on,” he says.

Epson’s P-series range branches into two areas, says Warby: P for photographic, and P for production.
Finally, Epson’s S-series range of eco-solvent printers is for outdoor signage, while the F-series handles fabric applications.
