THE MESSAGE IS IN THE NAME
The addition of two simple words, ‘Business Solutions’, lets everyone know exactly what they can expect from PPG’s extensive package of business support services.
PPG’S MVP PROGRAM has been providing collision centre owners with a whole range of support tools aimed at helping them develop virtually every aspect of their business. While it’s been super successful for a large number of collision centres across the region, the acronym ‘MVP’ meant different things to different people, says Greg Tunks, MVP Business Solutions Manager ANZ.

originated in the US and it actually
stands for ‘Maximum Velocity
Performance’. That is great but we felt it
needed something a little more to make
it crystal clear what customer focused
program was all about. From now on, you
will see it referred to as MVP Business
Solutions because this encompasses what
we do. Our network of seven MVP
Business Solutions Managers are,
ultimately, all about helping our customers to find effective solutions for any issue they may have with their business. The beauty is that PPG customers can pick and choose exactly how much or how little they want from MVP Business Solutions. There is no pressure to take part but, if you want support,
it’s just a matter of asking.”

we encourage owners to do is not leave it to the last minute. Quite often the MVP Business Solutions Manager does not

get called in until the business is in real trouble and the owner goes looking for help but it can be too late by that point. It’s a sad fact that one of the MVP Business Solution team’s biggest challenges is convincing people to take up the help which is available as part of the support package that comes with using PPG products.”
“For example, we recommend starting off with an audit of the business which generates an ‘Action Plan’ detailing all the improvements needed and offering solutions. From there you can get into methodologies, such as ‘lean’ and ‘5S’ – this can be daunting so we offer one-on- one mentoring through those changes. We also provide coaching on things like leadership and culture change within the business. These are just a tiny sample of
what MVP Business Solutions can offer. Ultimately, the aim is to help the owner remove all the hurdles in front of their staff so that they are able to work as efficiently as possible – their staff will appreciate it and so will the business’s bottom line.
