✷ FROM LITTLE THINGS A SNACK IS BORN
Woods Foods is a division of Woods Group, a diversified agribusiness. The company began value-adding its ingredients in the early 2000s. For example, by pea splitting, or by making chickpea flour, with a focus on the free-from food sectors.
The next step saw Woods Foods value adding its waste, grinding the skin from its pea splitting into a high fibre ingredient, for example.
The company found that its products were increasingly being used as healthy, high protein ingredients in a multitude of products on supermarket shelves, such as breakfast cereals, muesli bars, snack bars and standalone snacks, with demand growing alongside the rise in demand for innovative vegan-friendly products.
Woods Foods soon began to receive requests to create seasoned products.
From there, the idea to create its own snack brand – Human Bean Co – evolved.
