VACC CENTENARY
SUPPORT FOR VACC MEMBERS
Other facets to VACC’s evolution include the establishment of VACC’s Research Unit. This team is dedicated to positioning VACC as the go-to body for all automotive intelligence. VACC uses its research findings in government submissions, media commentary, and member communications.
VACC Auto Apprenticeships, meanwhile, remains the largest automotive apprentice employer in Victoria and plays an important part in training the next generation of automotive employees, guaranteeing a bright future for automotive businesses in the state.
VACC has grown to incorporate a commercial arm, OurAuto, which offers numerous products and services to the national automotive industry, including business insurance, websites and digital marketing products, technical information and more.
Much has happened in 2018, VACC’s centenary year. The Chamber recently sold its ‘home’ of 60 years, VACC House on plush St Kilda Road, and major constitutional changes were effected that position VACC well for its next 100 years.
Today, VACC is a modern, forward-looking association that is prepared for the massive changes that will occur across the Australian automotive industry, including electric and autonomous vehicles, different vehicle ownership and usage models, improved repair methods, and consolidation and changes in business models.
One thing is for sure, however: VACC is owned and run by members and it will continue to provide the best supports services in the country to these members for the next century.
