Dog of the Month
Herman the tyrant
We look at our furry friends across the advertising, adtech, marketing and media sector, shedding a light on these stars and how they help adland get results. This month we speak to Herman at Inocean.
Time in current role/time at the company: 18 months as Head of Culture.
How would you describe what the company does? They are here to entertain my bullshit of course. I’m a tyrant in a 6.5 kilo body that commandeers staff for a never ending cycle of treats, belly rubs and chest tickles.
What do you do day-to-day?
Creating “culture” of course: Sleeping, searching and begging for treatos, belly rubs and chest tickles. I also check everyone’s bags for treatos and dirty gym gear.
Define your job in one word:
Snacking.
I got into advertising because:
I get a fancy title, good treatos and they collectively all go into meltdown over my cuteness. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.
Who is your right-hand person?
You mean Personal Assistant, right? Jasmin Bedir, CEO at Innocean.
Whose job have you set your sights on in the future? I’m busy defending my current role as Head of Culture. I’ve been told that if I don’t stop behaving like a “@$$hole” at work I’ll be permanently “working from home”. Apparently Cino the cavoodle has a much better work ethic than me. Whatever.
Where do you turn for inspiration?
It’s all about variety in food. They make me ponder the big questions in life. Do pigs eat dog’s ears?
My favourite advert is: Hyundai Tucson “Robots”. I should have been the dog in that ad, but apparently I’m not fast enough. Lies, lies, lies.
My best trick is: Puppy dog eyes. I will melt your heart and make you feed me treatos.
