jitsu General family for many years, working their way from junior to senior roles in different areas within the business.
“This gives them an intimate understanding of what our customers want, and what the com- pany needs to achieve targets and build strong industry and customer engagement.”
John Bourke first joined Fujitsu General in 2001 as an apprentice and then became an elec- tronics technician before retraining as a refrig- eration and air conditioning technician.
In 2013, he moved into the Fujitsu Assist team as a service manager and in 2015 was pro- moted to national product manager. He left the business for a short time; and returned in 2020 as national dealer manager.
“John has been an integral part of the dealer channel development and growth since his re- turn and I’m very excited about the skills and support he will bring to the commercial team with his product and technical knowledge,” Cashel said.
In 2006 Alex Turner joined Fujitsu General in the internal sales team and his flair for sales saw him progress, becoming NSW state man- ager in 2014. His strength in sales saw Alex lead the NSW/ACT team to its first $100 million year in 2017/18.
He was also the recipient of the coveted Bill Gillet State Manager of the Year Award 2016 to 2018.
“On behalf of Fujitsu General, I congratulate both John and Alex in their appointments. I know they will continue to grow in the business as they have in their previous roles,” Cashel said.

Review will support emission reduction targets
THE CLIMATE CHANGE Authority (CCA) is currently reviewing assessment principles for international offsets.
The Authority has published a consultation paper on its website and is inviting submis- sions from interested parties by 4 April 2022.
The Minister for Industry, Energy and Emis- sions Reduction, Angus Taylor, has asked the CCA to undertake a review of the principles and criteria to apply to assessing the use of interna- tional offsets under Commonwealth programs, in the context of the Paris Agreement.
The resulting criteria may also assist with Australia’s emission reduction targets.
CCA CEO, Brad Archer, said the review is timely as international carbon markets are evolving rapidly and have the potential to re- duce the cost of achieving emission
reduction targets.
“Their design must ensure they
contribute to global decarbonisa- tion efforts,” he said.
“The consultation paper gives interested parties the opportu- nity to provide their views on the criteria for accepting offsets. It is also important to ensuring that any offsets used in Austral-
ia represent real emissions reductions. “It should also make a genuine contribu- tion to the goals of the Paris Agreement, and provide confidence in report- ed progress to emissions reduc- tion targets by Australian com-
panies.”
Responses to the consultation
paper will inform the Authority’s fi- nal review report, which is due to be delivered to the Minister by 30 June 2022.
