Year of the hybrid
IN A POST-COVID WORLD FLEXIBILITY
IS EVERYTHING,
WHICH IS WHY THE HYBRID WORKPLACE MODEL IS
BECOMING THE NORM.
Sandra Rossi – Editor
MOST EMPLOYEES HAVE returned to the office, they’re just not doing it full time. After two years of working remotely, most companies have adopted the hybrid model with staff splitting their time between working from home and the office.
Not everyone calls it the hybrid workplace mod- el, consulting firms like Accenture call it the ‘pro- ductivity anywhere’ workforce model. But what- ever it’s called, it is a trend that is being adopted around the world.
This new arrangement isn’t just about working from home and the office, it is likely to incorporate spaces everywhere.
For some companies staff are encouraged to work from casual work spaces provided by organi- sations like Hub Australia or to utilise Wi-Fi hot- spots and cafes. Even the beach has management approval as long as deadlines are met of course.
It’s the type of working arrangement that is a good fit for today’s fast moving world. Technology can accommodate the hybrid workplace because data can be accessed anywhere and at anytime.
Location has become redundant. Success today is all about being able to adapt and to deal with constant change. If COVID has taught us any- thing, it has taught us to accept change.
The good news is wherever we are we still need HVAC. 2022 is the year of the hybrid – we have hy- brid cars, hybrid energy systems, even hybrid floor- ing, so why not have a hybrid workplace? ✺
