Latest trends in high-performing facilities
ENERGY EFFICIENCY, SMART DESIGN AND THE FUTURE OF WORK WILL BE THE FOCUS AT TOTAL FACILITIES 2019.
TOTAL FACILITIES IS AUSTRALIA’S most im- portant event for facility management and in 2019 the show will explore all that goes into de- veloping ‘Environments of Excellence’.
It will bring together professionals and inno- vative businesses over two days to discover the latest and smartest ways our built environment can help us realise our full potential.
To be held at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, the two day event will be held on March 20-21, 2019.
Total Facilities 2019 boasts an impressive line- up of speakers, partners and exhibitors.
Renowned experts, academics and thought- leaders will share how the use of technology and data is transforming the way buildings are built and how to create a future of smart, connected buildings that use insights to enhance their en- vironments.
Workplace expert, Libby Sander’s keynote will be a highlight of the speaker series. Her presentation will examine leading edge prac- tices, with insights and practical examples from the newest workplaces of Google, Twit- ter and Boston Consulting Groups in New York.
It will also cover trends in smart devices in the workplace, the impact of AI and data monitoring on the workplace, the impact of design in chang-
ing patterns of work and the effects of contingent work in the sharing economy.
The program features a long list of industry experts including: Catherine Caruana Mc- Manus, Meshed IoT director ; Tony Arnel, glob- al director sustainability at NDY; Tica Hessing, human geographer & tenant advisor at Cush- man & Wakefield ; and Professor Stuart White, director Institute of Sustainable Futures at Uni- versity of Technology, Sydney.
The Australian chapter of CoreNet Global will return again this year to host a Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, March 21. This ‘State of the Nation’’ will be presented by Nerida Conis- bee, chief economist at REA Group.
Total Facilities event manager, Andrew Law- son, said registrations are open for the 2019 event which will feature exciting innovations and product launches.
“The built environment in which we live and work, has a significant impact on our efficiency, productivity and sustainability,” Lawson said.
“In order to develop the smart buildings of the future, FM professionals need to stay ahead of the latest insights, trends and in- novations.

HVACR SHOWCASE
FACILITY managers (FM) recognise
the critical role of HVACR in getting the most from Australia's built environment.
For the first time Total Facilities 2019 will feature dedicated HVACR sessions as well as exhibits showcasing the latest in energy efficient technologies.
The dedicated Energy Efficiency Hub will feature fresh insights on how to deliver high performing facilities.
Exhibitors include ebm-papst, ABB Australia, Blue Box Air, Jet Charge and Munters.
In addition to the exhibition is an extensive speaker series with topics ranging from building compliance to Indoor Air Quality and how to build a high performance FM team.
Smart technologies may be the source of valuable data but integrating so many disparate systems is key to maximising this information.
These issues will be covered in a session entitled “Improving decision-making through integrating smart systems”.
Other topics include Biophilia
(a natural approach to building design) and the net zero carbon challenge.
Visitors can also check out the free-to-attend speaker series offering 15 hours worth of sessions dealing with the built environment and the biggest FM challenges.
