HELD on the resort island of Langkawi in the Andaman Sea, the biennial LIMA event is one of Malaysia’s two largest defence and aerospace shows – the other being Defence Services Asia (DSA) held in Kuala Lumpur. As its name suggests, LIMA is a combined aerospace and maritime event, making it one of the few shows to have essentially two exhibitions under one roof. As in previous years, LIMA 2023 will be held at the Mah- suri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) adjacent to Langkawi’s international airport.
Although the show is largely focussed on Malaysia’s de- fence forces and their procurement plans, LIMA is also an important intersecting point of eastern and western manu- facturers and provides attendees with an important insight into regional defence capability and aspirations.
