SMALL-SCALE LABELLER
Splatt Engineering has built a labeller with the needs of smaller Australian beverage companies, such as craft brewers, in mind with the help of Italian company PMR Labellers.
Splatt imported and assembled the components to create the Splatt PMR Labeller, which comes in two models, and offers front and/or full wrap labels, speeds of up to 3500 bottles/ cans per hour, and a label speed of up to 40 or 60 metres/minute.
Splatt Engineering CEO Rob Splatt says there’s a growing trend in wrap labels due to the flexibility they offer.
“They can overlay another label that they’ve already done using this machine,” he says.
KRONES has opened a new brewing pilot plant at its facility in Freising, Germany to provide the company and its clients with a space for collaborative brewing, conducting trials, and testing new technologies.
Called The Steinecker Brew Center, the plant includes a five-hectolitre brewhouse with five different vessels, offering flexibility to combine different technologies.
Krones says the plant has the capacity to reproduce a range of processes while familiarising its commissioning engineers and clients’ staff with
the technologies.
The Brew Center will continue to liaise closely with Krones’ subsidiary Syskron, which has integrated its ReadyKit and Share2Act products there.
Both clients and Krones staff will now be able to run practical trials to find out which process engineering solutions are most efficiently suited to beverage production, and how digital interfacing can assist brewers in their daily work. ✷
