 APG’S NEW SYDNEY FACILITY
AUTO PARTS GROUP (APG) HAS UPGRAD-
ed its Sydney warehouse to a massive state-of-the-art facility which has a 100% capacity increase over the previ- ous location and is designed for 24,000sqm of storage. It utilises the lat- est in warehouse management software to drive automation in parts locating and productivity. It will allow customers to have visibility of order placement, parts pick status and delivery ETA's.
Efficiency has been created in every touch point of the part's 'life' in the APG supply chain to enhance service to its
customers. The Smithfield location capi- talises on being close to the port, air- port, and several motorways. Its Green Star Approval is measurable action of APG working towards a near zero car- bon footprint. APG's facility reaffirms its long-term commitment and service level to the region's customers, through in- creased product capacity, faster supply, and reduced parts handling. APG’s man- aging director Stephen Campbell said: “ We would thank all our clients for mak- ing this transition possible.

  SUPPORTING RECYCLING
                   THE MORRISON GOVERNMENT INTRODUCED
landmark legislation that marks a new era in Australia’s management of waste, with over half a million tonnes of rub- bish being shipped overseas every year.
The Recycling and Waste Reduction Bill 2020 will lead to a major overhaul of Australia’s waste and recycling ca- pacity. The bill will improve the exist- ing framework for product stewardship by incentivising businesses to take re- sponsibility for the processes used in the production of products as well as consideration of what happens at the end of the product’s use. The legislation will ban the export of end-of-life tyres as well as waste plastic, paper and glass and has been agreed to by both levels of government earlier this year.
MTAQ Group Chief Executive Dr Brett Dale said, “This is an excellent oppor- tunity to remodel Australia’s waste management, protect our environment as well as create economic opportuni- ties for a circular economy with recy- cling at its core.
