4 WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHER
COMPANIES SEEKING TO EXPAND GLOBALLY?
Dream big, but also be patient. This is the type of business where you need to make sure you take the time to find the right partners. Ultimately, whatever partnership you create should not be just transactional. Get to know the partner on a more personal level, because if you don’t treat each other like family, the partnership will never last. Also, it’s about being fair and making sure everyone is happy while still achieving your target and goals. What this really means is that sometimes it’s not about making the most money but more about a sustainable relationship. Lastly, it’s about being honest. You’d be surprised at the lies people tell in order to get a sale, and it’s not a good foundation for building a relationshipwithanyone.
5 ANY TIPS ON ESTABLISHING
MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH GLOBAL PARTNERS?
If you think it’s competitive in your domestic market, once you’re pitching for global partners the competition is colossal, and you shouldn’t be afraid of it. Go to wherever you think your products have potential, and try and get in front of as many people as you can in order to get a feel for the demand, price comparison, and level of opportunity in that market. When you reach out to people about potential partnerships, it’s not about how big an organisation is, it’s about whether the fundamentals of two companies share a similarity. Communicate clearly from the start in order for both parties to be proactive in getting to know each other. It’s about enjoying the ride and relationships you gain along the discovery path of apotentialpartner. ✷
