Harleen has worked at Essendon Panels in Melbourne for the last four years and was nominated by the business owner Michelle Ferbrache. “Harleen has excelled in all areas and has become a major asset to our company. She likes to interact with customers and this is evident by customers’ positive Google reviews which mention her by name,” says Michelle
Harleen’s role encompasses many tasks including corresponding with insurance companies, overseeing delivery schedules and communicating progress to customers. She undertakes quality checks, snaps and organises progress pictures and assists the legal team with required documents and in- formation. She is also pivotal to the account- ing process as well as managing loan cars, booking in customers and ordering parts.
Harleen is very proud to work in the au- tomotive industry. She is a member of the VACC’s Women in Automotive and attend- ed many VACC member meetings to have more insight into the running of the auto- motive industry.
Harleen sees this as an opportunity to contribute to an exciting, forward-thinking, fast-moving automotive industry. Michelle believes that winning this award will moti- vate her to excel and flourish further.
Harleen has managed to complete her Masters in professional accounting cou- pled with an Advanced Diploma in Man- agement – all while holding down a full time job.
Michelle says: “I believe her qualifica-
tions and multi-tasking skills make her so well suited for her role in the compa- ny. The skills that Harleen learned from her courses can be implemented in a real way and help our business to grow. Her leadership, management and profes- sional skills have helped us to report in a more accountable and transparent manner. Harleen has implemented more procedures to make the reporting pro- cess more concise and cost-effective, by putting all the internal controls and au- dit processes in place.

Office manager Vicki was nominated by Adam Martin the workshop manager at Roy Morcoms. He describes Vicki is the front line of the business. “Out of all our employees, her duties are the most de- manding,” Adam says. “On a daily ba- sis, Vicki speaks with and organises customers, manages insurance compa- nies and their communications, deals with all sorts of confusing financial is- sues and keeps our computer and book in/out systems running like a dream.
“There are probably a thousand more things that she does that we are not aware of. She is definitely one of those people you would not know the full definition of tasks, until she stopped doing them.”
From day one Vicki has shown a level head and an astonishing grasp of the dai- ly workings in the smash repair industry. She approaches tasks with confidence and a willingness to always learn and have a go at things herself. Vicki will go out of her way to learn a new procedure, and then update our company files with the information she has gathered. She is always pleasant and professional to staff and customers and has astounding com- munication skills. She goes above and be-
yond to familiarise herself with details of every job, so that she can accurately keep customers informed and updated on their vehicles. Ray Morcoms Auto Body Repairs has further developed as a reliable, re- spectable and professional place for smash repairs as a result.

The team believes that Vicki has helped to bind them as a family. She is always cheerful, chirpy and a pleasure to work with.

Its is lovely to come in to the office of a morning and see her there, and it makes you happy to come to work. On another note, Vicki makes one hell of an apple slice,” Adam says.
