         AXELENT INTRODUCES X-TRAY
The Axelent X-Tray is a complete cable routing system based on wire trays that are smart and flexible quick to assemble.
Axelent sales director, Drew Hoxey, said, “The X-Tray wire trays integrate easily with Axelent’s machine guards making the combination the optimum choice in machine guarding and safety.”
He said the X-Tray range is suited for clean rooms and are easy to vacuum or clean with water.
“The unique feature of this range is that Axelent X-Trays do not require special tools to install ensuring that the solution is quick and easy to install and easily re-configurable for future changes to the facilities,” Hoxey said.
“The X-Trays range offers the longest spacing between support brackets on the market ensuring a cost-effective solution. Support distance can be increased, and fewer supports and parts are required
which brings down overall costs for installation.” Hoxey said Axelent X-Tray is designed and
manufactured in a state-of-the-art warehouse and the design and product development team performs daily tests on the standard range of products to ensure consistent quality.
Axelent X-Tray can also be equipotentially bonded to secure protective bonding or functional bonding to ensure that the range complies with the highest demands on cable routing systems as laid down in IEC 61537. The range also covers all corrosion classes to meet requirements for extremely corrosive environments.
“By combining the Axelent X-Tray and X-Guard you achieve maximum flexibility from a minimum amount of material and turnkey solutions from one supplier make project implementations quick and easy,” Hoxey said.
KRONES TURNS UP TECH FOR COVID-ERA SOLUTIONS
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused stumbling blocks for companies such as beverage lines provider Krones to providing fast assistance in terms of maintenance and spare-part replacement.
Flight cancellations, quarantine regulations, and entry bans renders it nearly impossible to maintain rapid-response service support when it’s needed.
Before the pandemic threw a spanner into everything, Krones already offered a solution as a complement to its support services: Argos Augmented Reality Support.
Thanks to smart glasses, an operator at a machine can receive immediate assistance from a Krones support specialist without the specialist having to do any travelling.
The biggest advantage here, Krones says is that if a problem occurs during ongoing production, the service specialist from Krones is thanks to Argos directly on site immediately.
Using live video and audio transmission, the expert can be in the midst of the line within just a few seconds.
PAPER, NOT FILM – ECO-FRIENDLY CAN PACKAGING SYSTEM
KHS Group has introduced a new paper technology that provides an alternative to shrink film or wrap-around cartons for cans. The company’s Innopack Kisters tray packers can wrap cans of food and beverages in paper.
KHS said the sustainability results with paper are similar to cardboard, but costs are lower with paper, as less energy and fewer materials are used. With a few minor adjustments existing machines can also be converted to the new setup.
Karl-Heinz Klumpe, packaging product manager at KHS, said the idea of using paper as a secondary packaging is not new; KHS first experimented with this about 20 years ago.
“Back then, this technology didn’t catch on, however, as paper was a cost-intensive raw material and wrapping containers in film yielded better results regarding stability,” Klumpe said.
“Our customers now want alternatives to the usual packaging systems such as film. These should be as eco-friendly as possible.”
