 Emerson completes Progea acquisition
EMERSON HAS COMPLETED its acquisition of the Progea Group, an industry-leading provid- er of industrial internet of things (IIoT), plant analytics, human machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCA- DA) technologies.
The addition of Progea’s capabilities in analyt- ics, industrial visualization and IIoT will build upon Emerson’s embedded software and control portfolio for manufacturing, infrastructure and building automation applications and enable cus- tomers to streamline comprehensive machine and plant control systems to a single partner.
This acquisition will lower total cost of owner- ship and reduce the need for multiple vendors.
Emerson’s Automation Solutions business ex- ecutive president, Lal Karsanbhaj, said the ac- quisition strengthens the company’s ability to provide customers with an integrated package to improve overall equipment efficiency and ac- celerate their digital transformation journey.
Progea Group is headquartered in Modena, It- aly, with approximately 55 employees. ✺
The acquisition will enable customer to streamline machine and plant control systems.
  Advanced airborne virus protection
POWER CLEAN AIR Products based in Sydney has launched a range of new air treatment prod- ucts in partnership with Airtemp.
These products are air sterilisers with ad- vanced properties that inactivate airborne bac- teria and viruses including Human Coronavirus up to 99.9%*
Using Ultra Plasma Ion Fields and e-Nano Elec- trostatic Filters, these devices decompose and re- move large numbers of viruses and bacteria in- cluding Human Coronavirus and staphylococcus.
Technologies director Tony Power said the prod- uct is a worthwhile fixture to any room up to 84 cubic metres that requires air sterilisation - a must have for doctors, dentists and pretty much any commercial space where people gather in small numbers.
Air moving through HVAC systems compli- cates the removal of small contaminants such as airborne viruses and bacteria. These air steri- lisers with electrostatic filters remove fine parti- cles down to 0.3 um and offer an additional line of defence to safeguard health and wellbeing.
Power Clean Air Products also produces a range of easy to use HVAC sanitisers for filters and coils, these come in simple pressure packs and are easy to use by technicians or end users.
Power Hand and Surface Sanitiser is a po- tent formulation that offers an alternative to alcohol-based sanitisers for every day use, its active ingredient surgical grade quaternary
ammonium makes it non flammable and easy on the hands. It also provides 24 hour protec- tion to surfaces.
Additionally, the Aircare Air Purifier is a high performance air cleaner fitted with multiple fil- ters including HEPA and is widely used in the aged care and accommodation sector.
The products are available from Power Clean Air Products 1300 782 761
*The Airtemp UPI Device was evaluated for its ability to inactivate Human Coronavirus - similar to MERS-Coronavirus and SARS-Cor- onavirus. MicroBio Test personnel performed the inactivation procedure using Human Cor- onavirus Strain: 229E. Samples were titrated by 50% tissue culture infection dose (TCID50) endpoint assay using MRC-5 cells. Test results are available. ✺
