     2020 IS ALMOST OVER, WHAT
A RELIEF.
It is just one reason why we need to focus on what really matters and that includes recognizing the industry’s best and brightest through the HVACR Leadership Awards.
We need to shine, to showcase our industry – let it be a beacon of hope in trying times.
I know by the quality of entries we received this year that you agree wholeheartedly. Your re- silience is admirable, thankyou to everyone that has participated.
Before we announce the winners on November 12, readers will have the opportunity to participate in CCN Live 2020. We have put together an inform- ative speaker program covering the topics that matter to you, and it is free.
Details of the program and a full list of our award finalists are on page 14.

And remember we are almost there, 2020 is vir- tually over (excuse the pun). ✺
IT HAS BEEN a challenging year for everyone dealing with the global COVID-19 pandemic.
We have been forced to adapt to a new kind of normal. From one obstacle to the next it has been hard work and our resilience should be rewarded.
I know we are not the only industry dealing with a significant drop in revenue but figures from trades and services website ServiceSeek- ing.com.au show that our trade has taken a massive hit.
Out of all the trades listed on the site, refrigera- tion and air conditioning technicians have seen the biggest fall in job requests (41 per cent), and it is even worse in the heating sector.
Even with all of the government assistance that has been provided to keep the economy afloat- from wage subsidies to tax breaks - a full recovery will take years.
