Fan system for mission critical cooling
THE BALTIMORE AIRCOIL Company (BAC) has launched the ENDURADRIVE Fan System for mission-critical cooling applications.
The fan system features permanent magnet, direct-drive technology, in which the fan motor is directly coupled to the fan, eliminating the need for intermediary moving parts like gears or belts.
It is specifically engineered so that the mo- tor, VFD, and cooling tower work together to provide unparalleled reliability.
ENDURADRIVE’s design reduces the risk and cost of failures due to moisture ingress, with upgraded insulation, a double O-ring, a drive-end seal, and an integrated drain.
BAC offers an application-specific VFD with firmware designed and tested to optimize sys- tem reliability for any application.
The fan is engineered and CTI certified for extreme duty and to withstand thermal and
vibration rigors of cooling tower operation. The streamlined design also allows for easi- er overall inspection, maintenance, and ser- vice compared to other options on the market, thus reducing unplanned downtime over the
lifetime of the system.
In addition, equipment-specific VFD soft-
ware ensures seamless integration into any cooling tower application.
The ENDURADRIVE Fan System is the most energy-efficient fan system available for evaporative cooling equipment. It reduces en- ergy costs by 3–5% by eliminating energy transmission loss through belts and gears.
In addition, BAC’s state-of-the-art perma- nent-magnet technology enables unmatched efficiency at part load by eliminating stator losses and reducing rotor losses.

Key to thermal efficiency
Built to last
ACTROL HAS ANNOUNCED its newest range of fitted condensing units which are avail- able now.
With a strong and sturdy design, Ryker GH con- densing units are built to withstand the most ex- treme conditions, operating in ambients up to 43°C.
Ryker units have your back, whether used in cool rooms, food and dairy service or commer- cial installations.
Supremely efficient, Ryker helps get the job done quickly, easily, and reliably. The range includes units to suit applications from 5.2kW to 25.6kW.
Ryker units come with a range of standard features:
• Larger condenser that provides lower en- ergy consumption and higher capacity at any given ambient
• Condenser fans are single phase 240V ensuring economic efficiency and reduced risk of failure
• Designed for use with most common HFC and HFC alternative refrigerant blends in- cluding R448A.
• Pre-wired for quick installation (DOL)
• Fitted with a Carel condenser fan speed control Models include comprehensive product speci- fications and drawings to ensure users can select
the right unit for the right job.
Details on the full range are available via the
Actrol website or speak with an Actrol expert engineer.
THERMAL-XR IS A graphene coating that re- stores degraded thermal bonds in damaged or corroded air-cooled heat exchangers, thereby improving cooling performance.
An immediate reduction in head pressure and energy usage is evident when coils are treated with Thermal-XR's three step process.
Promek Technologies has numerous case studies throughout New South Wales and Queensland demonstrating significant improve- ments to operational efficiency in air-cooled condensers after a single application.
Promek Technologies director, Tony Power, said clients area seeing improved heat exchange performance by as much as 28 per cent..
From fast food outlets to banks, grocery chains, aged care facilities and entertainment venues, he said Thermal-XR is showing remark- able results.
“This treatment extends the operating life of air conditioning and refrigeration plants,” Power said. "We've seen an 80% reduction in overheating breakdowns after one treatment, the coating's heat transfer properties actually improve as am-
bient temperature increases.
“Thermal-XR is also superhydrophobic, expel-
ling water and preventing icing up. Other com- mercially available anti-corrosion coatings are no match for this new technology, since they are all insulators and do not improve heat exchange.
“Thermal-XR is set to change the way heat ex- changers are serviced and managed - instead of replacement we now have a viable remedy to ex- tend the life of the unit."
The product is now being distributed world- wide – Promek Technologies is the Australian Distributor. Contact Promek Technologies 1300 782 761.
