NEW IN STORE
WEIGHT-LOSS WONDER SHAKE
A newly formed company called Avant-Garde Wellness has launched a scientifically formulated weight-loss product containing a blend of proteins, several functional fibres, and marine collagen.
Called The Beauty Shake, its point of difference from other products on the market is that in addition to protein, it contains over 10g per serve of dietary fibre and delivers 3500mg of marine collagen to promote skin hydration and reduce visibility of wrinkles, according to its creator Jaroslav Blazek.
It's made with cereal fibre from oats, cacao bean extract, and prebiotic acacia fibre that the company claims will keep consumers full for hours without having to deal with excessive calories.
HERBERT ADAMS GOES ARTISAN
Patties Foods has rolled out a new series of high-end pies under the recently relaunched Herbert Adams brand.
The Artisan range of frozen pies, sold in Woolworths, includes Black Angus Beef and Butter Chicken varieties, and is the first-small batch offering from Herbert Adams, with each pie hand-finished with a sprinkled garnish. The beef pie is topped with black and white sesame seeds and a dusting of paprika, while the Butter Chicken pie pastry has black and white sesame seeds and a dash of turmeric.
Patties Foods’ general manager of innovation Anand Surujpal said the premium-quality pie category was growing rapidly.
“We are thrilled to further elevate the pie segment by introducing a new tier of premium pies," he said.

Herbert Adams pies and pastries were relaunched by Patties in June, with a campaign that played on the brand’s pioneering spirit.
Blazek says the team behind Avant-Garde Wellness has more than 20 years of experience in sourcing different food ingredients from around the globe. The product is currently only available online, with new stockists to be announced as they roll out.
A SHOT OF COFFEE AND VODKA
Pernod Ricard’s coffee liqueur Kahlua will be used in the new Espresso Martini on Tap blend in Australia.
PB SHOTS PACK A PUNCH
Pic’s Peanut Butter has launched a range of single-serve ‘shots’ called Peanut Butter Slugs.
Each 30g sachet contains smooth, natural peanut butter using freshly roasted hioleic peanuts, a pinch of salt, and nothing else, according to the company.
The on-the-go snack includes fats, protein, and fibre in convenient and easy-use packaging.
The slugs are packaged with double-foiled wrapping and have an easy-open spout at the top of the package to avoid leakage. They also come in a dispenser pack with an easy-open box.
The Pic’s Peanut Butter Slugs have an RRP of $1.00.
Kahlua’s Espresso Martini on Tap is a crafted blend that also contains Absolut vodka and Australia’s The Kind Coffee Co organic cold brew coffee.
The taps themselves use 20-litre, single-use, nitro-charged recyclable kegs – providing a six-month ambient shelf life without any added chemicals or flavour agents. The kegs work in any current beer tap system, or a new unit can be installed. One keg serves 160 drinks and saves a total of 7.5 service hours when compared to its hand-shaken counterpart. Kahlua’s Espresso Martini on Tap takes 10 seconds to pour, versus the average three minutes to make by hand, according to the company.
Pernod Ricard Australia marketing director Eric Thomson said Kahlua Espresso Martini on Tap had been created in response to both consumer and trade demand.
